Dr. Gjoko Muratovski
In my career, I have learned that true leadership is not about merely managing change; but about inspiring it. I lead transformational changes that drive innovation, strategic growth, and global impact.

I was saddened to hear that one of the greatest American executives I had the pleasure of knowing (and reporting to), Myron E. Ullman III, passed away. Mike, as his friends called him, left his mark on the corporate world by leading global giants such as LVMH, De Beers Group, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's Retail Holdings, Inc. and Starbucks. He was also an exceptionally kind person who supported many charities and provided endless philanthropic contributions. As the first Ullman Endowed Chair and Director of the Ullman School of Design, I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know him personally and to learn from him. Most people thought that when he gave us a $10,000,000 endowment, we renamed the oldest public design school in America after him. In fact, he was too modest to allow that. He asked us to name it in honor of his father, Myron E. Ullman, Jr., who, interestingly enough, was the inventor of the dishwashing machine. A few years later, I planned a little surprise for him. At the 150th anniversary of the school, I established and named the Ullman Design Museum in his honor. I kept that as a secret until the launch date, knowing he would never have asked for such a gesture himself. If you would like to learn more about him, here is the obituary that The New York Times wrote: https://lnkd.in/d-aFS7ugHe will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.Photo: Mike and me at the Yale University Higher Education Leadership Summit in 2018 (That's Jeff Sonnenfeld, the Senior Associate Dean for Leadership Studies from the Yale School of Management behind us).#ullman #ceo #business #executive

Leadership resources are even inaccessible to our childrenWhen we think of less fortunate people why do we try to stay away? Let's ask what’s conditioned this thinkingWhen we move, we consider school ratings A bad school rating = stay away But why not get involved at school...Join the board, donate a few hours to these kids, initiate programs We expect someone else to do all the good work Without getting our hands “dirty” Please consider what leadership resources you’re making available to our future generationsEven the ones with the low school ratings…---------------------------------------------------------------------------💫 Hi, I'm Mariah Leadership Development Advocate w/ APassion for Empowering Those in Every RoleJoin Me On This Journey Where Leadership Opportunities Are Accessible To All at The Network💫

A thought provoking few days with Paula ter Brake and Shaun Clarke ONZM at #thinkbird and an inspirational group of peers last week. They challenged our thinking and our curiosity as we examined the "why" and the "what if's". It struck me that as young children "why" is our most important word, it is how we question and how we learn. It was a good reminder that as adults we should continue to embrace this rather than accept the status quo. In an Operations context the best thing you can do is to include the "why" as part of your business toolkit. If the answer to the question of "why" is "because we have always done it this way" there is an invaluable opportunity to examine the "what if" to potentially innovate and develop a more efficient and effective process!

My colleague posted the following and it got me thinking…… Is Attending Leadership Conferences Worth It? We often hear about leadership conferences as a must-attend event for professional growth. But let’s be honest: are they truly worth the investment of time, energy, and resources? Some see these gatherings as a chance to network and learn from the best, while others dismiss them as overhyped, with little practical takeaways. The truth is, it depends on what you’re seeking. Here’s a perspective we don’t discuss enough:Action over Inspiration: Many walk away inspired, but few implement. The real return on investment isn’t in hearing powerful talks; it’s in translating them into actionable strategies for your team.Network versus Relationships: The value is not in the number of linkedin contacts but in the depth of connections made. Are we cultivating surface-level contacts, or building meaningful relationships. Real connection is exciting. Growth vs. Stagnation: is one being challenged by diverse perspectives, or hearing an echo of current beliefs? So, is it worth it? Only if one is determined to act. The commitment doesn’t end at the conference; it begins when you return to the office. That got me thinking… how many people are at the office… Dearbhla Holohan Michelle Harris Michele Janes Josh H.

21/64 Certified Advisors of Color (CAOC) Program is a leadership development opportunity that advances philanthropic advisors and professionals who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) as they build trusting and transformative relationships with donors and, together, move resources in just and equitable ways. With the continued intention of taking responsibility for diversifying the field of philanthropic advising, we envision that this transformational approach will inspire shifts in relationships between donors and professionals, ultimately directing more funds towards organizations and communities dedicated to advancing a more just and equitable world.Given the success of the program's first three years and a continued demand from our colleagues in the field, 21/64 is thrilled to launch two new cohorts this coming year:1) The Approach Cohort dedicated to BIPOC-identifying professionals new to 21/64's Certification and Multigenerational Approach.2) The Advanced Cohort dedicated to BIPOC-identifying professionals within the 21/64 Certified Advisors network. We invite you to explore both cohort experiences, and we encourage you to consider applying or recommending a colleague or peer to join us.
